The wedding planning process for this couple was all about showcasing the special place that had become central to their relationship - the quaint Vermont town of Quechee. They wanted their celebration to be intimate, romantic, and familial, with a guest list of 185. To achieve this, they opted for a tented wedding in the South Garden of the Woodstock Inn, which would give their day an indoor/outdoor feel and transport their guests into a world of enchantment.

Wedding Details

The couple's vision for their wedding was to create an ethereal, secret garden-inspired celebration that would transport their guests into a world of enchantment. They worked closely with their florist to bring in stunning white birch trees and florals in shades of pink, whites, creams, and soft orange accents. The ceremony was held at Our Lady of the Snows, a charming church where the bride had attended services with her family growing up.

Reception and Decor

After the ceremony, guests strolled across the street to the Woodstock Inn, where they were greeted by waiters handing out specialty drinks. The cocktail reception on the front lawn evoked the warmth of a late summer evening, with rattan baskets overflowing with blooms and floral tablecloths. As guests made their way to the back of the inn, they were greeted by a flowing sailcloth tent anchored by wrought-iron garden gates - the portal to the couple's "secret garden." Inside, every detail was imbued with intention, from the lush florals to the cozy, intimate vibe.

Personal Touches

The couple incorporated personal touches throughout their wedding, including needlepoint, which is a shared language between the bride and her mom. Needlepoint became a defining textile element of the celebration, woven into touchpoints across the entire weekend. Each table number featured a needlepointed frame, and the bride's mom also made her bridal clutch, as well as the delicate little box that held her wedding day earrings. The ring bearer pillow was also a special touch, designed and needlepointed by the bride's mom using their custom wedding crest.

The couple's attention to detail and commitment to making their wedding personal and intentional paid off, creating a truly unforgettable celebration that transported their guests into a world of enchantment.
