The couple got engaged on May 10, 2025, at the Shangri-La Hotel in Paris, where Simu proposed with a string quartet and a private dinner for Allison's secretly flown-in friends and family. They first met in 2022 and went public with their relationship later that same year.

Planner Lisa Vorce orchestrated the festivities, which began with a Thursday rehearsal dinner at the chateau for family and the wedding party. On Friday, guests gathered at Carrières des Lumières, a former limestone quarry turned immersive art space, for the welcome party. They viewed projections of works by Picasso and Frida Kahlo before an open-air cocktail reception. Dinner was served family-style at two long tables lit by hundreds of candles. Allison wore a fully beaded Georges Hobeika dress. After dinner, a group including guest Woody Harrelson played a 20-person game of Mafia back at the chateau until 4 a.m.
