Konnor and Josh's Whimsical Fort Worth Zoo Wedding
A couple hosted 115 guests for a garden party wedding, moving from the Fort Worth Botanic Garden to a lavishly decorated tent at the Fort Worth Zoo.

Konnor and Josh held their wedding at two Fort Worth venues, beginning with a ceremony at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden. The reception for 115 guests followed at the Fort Worth Zoo, where event planners transformed a large tent into an intimate spring garden setting.
According to the couple's planners, the design aimed for a laid-back reception with a strong dance party vibe. A custom light blue chinoise, designed by a friend of the bride, matched the linens on the head table. Lightly patterned linens were layered in front of light blue banquettes adorned with pastel pillows.
Food and Drink Priorities
The couple prioritized ample, high-quality food with efficient service to prevent guests from waiting in lines or receiving cold meals. They opted for a plated dinner service where guests chose between a chicken or beef entree. Cocktail hour featured brisket burnt ends with a fiery peach BBQ sauce, a nod to Fort Worth. A late-night snack of honey butter chicken biscuits was also served.
Transforming the Zoo Tent
The permanent tent at the Fort Worth Zoo is a vast space that can seat over 400. For their smaller guest list, the couple wanted to create an intimate, whimsical garden party atmosphere. KC Cloud Events used light blue velvet drape with a scalloped cornice to make the space feel cozier.
To address the high ceiling, planners strung lush greenery garlands throughout and brought in 60 chandeliers from Party Dallas Rentals and Grand Events Texas, peeking them through the greenery. Florist Remi and Gold built full trees placed in the middle of blue velvet banquettes. The dance floor and main bar were focal points, with bamboo chandeliers and lush florals hanging overhead. Custom lavender fringe chandeliers were also used over the dance floor.
Fashion and Florals
The bride wore a custom gown by Mira Zwillinger with a coordinating veil that featured the same applique flowers as the dress. Bridesmaids wore dresses from Azazie, while the mother of the bride wore Mac Duggal.
Florals played a central role, with an abundance of hydrangeas, a favorite of the bride's. Guests were greeted by a floral display featuring their seat assignments. Place cards were die-cut flowers in coordinating colors. The wedding cake, made by Creme de la Creme, was decorated with buttercream flowers textured to match the floral appliques on the bride's dress and veil.
Personal Touches
The couple incorporated several personal traditions into their day. Immediately after their first look, they took a limoncello shot together, a ritual they use to loosen up before socializing. Instead of a traditional guest book, they had guests sign playing cards. Angelica Marie Photography captured the event.
