The wedding of Ritika and Darol was a unique and unforgettable celebration of their love and cultural heritage. The couple, who met on Bumble and share a passion for exploring each other's cultures, brought together 112 of their closest family and friends for an Indian-meets-Irish wedding at the historic Old Rectory Killyman in Dungannon, Northern Ireland.

The Proposal

The proposal was a romantic and intimate moment for the couple. Darol took Ritika to the historic National Trust site of the Mussenden Temple, where he had secretly planned to propose. Ritika fell in love with the location, and Darol proposed with a salt and pepper marquise cut diamond, which was exactly what she had hoped for.

The Wedding Details

The wedding was a beautiful blend of Indian and Irish traditions. Ritika wore a Made With Love dress, paired with a matching veil, second-hand Jimmy Choo heels, and an Ivory & Co headband. The groom wore a tailored suit from Moss Bros and a green stripes and squares tie by Oswin Hyde. The bridesmaids wore a mix of handpicked designs, including an Indian-saree inspired cut dress.

The ceremony was a central highlight of the wedding, featuring a humanist ceremony with emotional handwritten vows. The couple's mothers performed a traditional hand-fasting ceremony, tying the couple's hands using a beautiful blend of Indian fabric and handknitted Irish wool.

The Reception

The reception was a lively and joyful celebration of the couple's love. The evening kicked off with a first dance to Lewis Capaldi's Pointless, and traditional Irish music and incredible food kept the energy high and the vibe relaxed. The couple's miniature dachshund, Paisley, was a star of the show, walking down the aisle with the bridesmaids and featuring in many of the wedding details, including napkins, table names, and a tiny gold dachishund figure on the wedding cake.

The couple's advice for future couples was to prioritize budgeting and connection, and to decide early what you are and aren't willing to compromise on financially. With their wedding now behind them, Ritika and Darol are gearing up for a honeymoon that kicks off with 'Wedding Part Two' in India, followed by a dream getaway to Sri Lanka and the Maldives.
