Nicole and Trace held their wedding at the National Peruvian Paso Horse Association in Lima, Peru. The couple, together since high school, wanted a celebration that honored Nicole's Peruvian heritage and their shared history.

The venue was deeply personal for Nicole, who spent childhood weekends there watching her grandfather compete with his Peruvian Paso horses. For the couple, it was a place that connected family history across generations.

The Planning Vision

Nicole and Trace aimed to create a timeless and colorful celebration that reflected both their love story and Peruvian culture. Their vision blended lush garden-inspired design with specific nods to local traditions. The goal was to craft an experience that felt elegant and personal for their globally scattered guests.

Fashion and Attire

Nicole wore a Muse by Berta gown with delicate floral appliqué, purchased from the same Miami bridal boutique where her mother found her wedding dress. She described this as a full-circle moment. Her bridesmaids chose their own dresses in shades of yellow, pink, or orange.

Trace wore a classic navy suit from Sid Mashburn. The groomsmen also wore navy suits, with ties gifted by the groom.

Ceremony and Reception Details

The ceremony was a two-part event, beginning with a brief Catholic Mass followed by a symbolic ceremony officiated by Trace's cousin, where they exchanged personal vows. Music transitioned throughout the day, from a live violinist to a marching band that led guests to cocktail hour and accompanied a Peruvian Paso horse presentation.

The reception tent was transformed by florist Solei Diseno into what was described as a lush greenhouse, filled with orange, yellow, and pink blooms and candlelight. The menu featured a buffet of Peruvian and American favorites, with a seafood and champagne station during cocktail hour and an espresso and pisco bar serving classic Peruvian cocktails like Pisco Sours.

Incorporating Peruvian Tradition

A key aim was to introduce guests to Peruvian culture. The weekend included a traditional marinera dance and a Peruvian-themed hora loca with performers in guinea pig and llama costumes. Watercolor floral artwork by Fox In The Attic was used consistently, from the Dear Elouise invitations to custom bar signage and personalized tambourines for the dance floor.

The couple's first dance was to "I'd Rather Be With You" by Joshua Radin, a song they bonded over early in their relationship. The night continued with a DJ and a surprise saxophone performance paired with a sparkler show.
