Southern-Inspired Wedding at The Dunlin Blends Family
A couple's celebration at The Dunlin, Auberge Resorts Collection, featured custom illustrations, signature cocktails reflecting their Texas and Georgia

Millie and Tony hosted their wedding at The Dunlin, Auberge Resorts Collection, drawing inspiration from the low country and coastal elegance of Johns Island. The event, planned and designed by Vetri Events, featured a palette of powder blue, light green, peach pink, and butter yellow, with hanging floral installations by Festoon suspended over the dance floor.
Personalizing the Menu and Music
The couple focused on reflecting their backgrounds through food and drink. With Tony from Texas and Millie from Georgia, they infused Southern comfort with a Cajun twist into the menu. They also created two signature cocktails that represented their personalities.
Musical selections held deep personal significance. Their first dance was to "Lovebug" by the Jonas Brothers, a nod to their first concert together seven years ago in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The processional included "Married Life" from Up-the first movie they watched together-along with Taylor Swift's "Invisible String" and "Lover."
Incorporating Family and Heritage
One of Millie's favorite details was incorporating Lily of the Valley into her bouquet and the wedding crest. She noted this flower was carried by both her mother and grandmother in their wedding bouquets, making it a meaningful tradition to continue.
The couple's shared history at Oklahoma State University's Cowboy Marching Band, where Millie was the feature twirler and Tony was a drum major who played saxophone, was a central theme. Custom illustrations by Julie King Studio turned the escort card display into a personal narrative. The illustrations featured their dog Poppy holding a baton, a bird with a saxophone, cowboy hats and boots, symbols for Texas and Georgia, and an espresso martini representing their favorite shared cocktail.
A Full-Circle Ceremony
Dr. Tyler Austin, the band director who originally brought the couple together at Oklahoma State University, served as the officiant. The couple described him as a mentor, and his involvement made the ceremony feel "incredibly full circle." According to the couple, he delivered a perfect and personal ceremony for them.
Photography for the day was handled by Kailee DiMeglio Photography of Little Black Book. Every frame, according to the source report, captured the sunny, celebratory atmosphere of the Southern-inspired event at the coastal venue.
