Annie and Luke celebrated their wedding at Cragwood Country House in Windermere, Cumbria. Despite rain on the day, the couple and their photographer turned the weather into a feature of their celebration.

According to a feature on English Wedding, the couple's family played a central role in preparations. They spent the day before the wedding creating flower arrangements from blooms supplied by Liverpool Wholesale Flowers Ltd. Most decorations were sourced from car boot sales and charity shops, and the bride's grandmother handmade all the bunting.

The Wedding Photography

Mark Battista was the couple's Lake District wedding photographer. Annie and Luke stated that booking him was one of their best decisions. They praised his ability to make them feel comfortable and noted that his style resulted in natural, vibrant photos full of emotion.

"His style of photography is absolutely beautiful," the couple said. "The colours are so natural and vibrant, and every image feels full of life and emotion." They added that the rainy conditions led to some of their favourite images, as Battista was happy to take photos outside. The couple also received a highlight video that they said they would cherish forever.

The Wedding Venue and Details

The wedding was held at Cragwood Country House in Windermere. The couple highlighted the venue's stunning surroundings and the flexibility of the staff, particularly praising a team member named Matilda. When rain forced a change from outdoor plans, Matilda helped transform the library and dining room into beautiful ceremony and reception spaces.

A personal touch was using the bride's mother's vintage china for the afternoon tea service. The couple also enjoyed a boat trip from the venue's jetty. Their wedding cake was purchased from Costco and decorated by the bride's mother on the morning of the wedding.

The Wedding Attire and Beauty

Annie found her wedding dress at Wed2B in Liverpool, selecting the first dress she tried on. The groom's suit and the suits for the wedding party came from Moss Bros. For makeup, the bride used Lisa from Blusch Makeup Artistry. Annie, who rarely wears makeup, did not have a trial but reported that Lisa made her feel at ease and her makeup stayed flawless throughout the rainy day.

The couple concluded by encouraging others to incorporate DIY elements into their weddings, stating it saved money and added a deeply personal touch. They credited their family, especially the bride's mother, for making their vision a reality.
