Savannah and Jack's Horetown House Wedding

A couple prioritized venue, food, and music for their 133-guest wedding at the exclusive Horetown House in Wexford, aiming for an intimate, house-party

A couple prioritized venue, food, and music for their 133-guest wedding at the exclusive Horetown House in Wexford...

Savannah and Jack were married at the sustainable Wexford venue Horetown House in July, surrounded by 133 guests. The couple focused their budget on key areas to create an unforgettable experience, with the venue and food as their top priority.

They sought an exclusive location that build intimacy, avoiding the feel of a large, traditional wedding venue. Horetown House, which hosts only one wedding per weekend, provided a setting that felt like a grand house party. The couple valued the staff's personal approach, knowing them by name from booking through to the wedding day. Jack particularly appreciated the venue's cellar bar.

Planning Priorities and Budget

When planning began, the couple ranked what mattered most and allocated their budget accordingly. "Aside from the obvious of being married to each other, our biggest priority from the beginning was that everyone had an unforgettable time," the bride told One Fab Day. Their main spending categories were the venue, food, and music.

Music was a major focus for Savannah, who believes it sets a wedding's mood and preserves memories. They hired singer Rachel Grace for the ceremony, praising her range from Dermot Kennedy to Olivia Dean for creating the desired atmosphere. Officiant Enda Harte conducted the ceremony, which included a reading of "The Wedding Poem" by Whitney Hanson, found by the couple on One Fab Day.

Aesthetic Inspiration and Attire

The wedding's visual style was inspired by the nuptials of Irish style influencer Ciara O’Doherty. After seeing pictures of that event, the couple booked a viewing at Horetown House and adopted many elements of its romantic, editorial, yet high-energy aesthetic. The decor featured monochrome touches, delicate lace, soft pink accents, baby's breath, and white drapery against the venue's gardens.

Savannah wore a Rime Arodaky wedding dress with lace accents from Pearl Lane, styled with fingerless lace gloves, Jimmy Choo heels, and accessories from Maison Sabben. Her wedding ring was by Chupi. The bridesmaids wore black off-the-shoulder gowns by Club L, styling them with their own shoes and Ganni mini bucket bags gifted by the bride.

The Vendor Experience

Savannah emphasized the importance of vendor personalities, noting they share in the day's most emotional moments. She enlisted trusted creatives, with Ellie Fay and Abbie McCarthy doing her hair and makeup after a trial before her hen party. The morning of the wedding was filled with a positive energy from the team. "I fear I will never feel as beautiful as I did that morning," she said.

Capturing the day's feeling was important, so they hired a media team to produce editorial, romantic, and timeless footage. Photographer Naomi Christina provided the imagery. The bride also received a heartfelt gift from her bridesmaids on the day: a book named after Dolly Alderton's Everything I Know about Love.
