A couple aimed for a Bridgerton-inspired wedding that balanced grandeur with timelessness. They chose a palette of soft blues, crisp whites, and shades of lavender and purple for their celebration at Graydon Hall Manor in Toronto.

Their vision centered on fresh yet romantic elegance. The estate's manicured gardens, stone architecture, and a three-tiered fountain provided a vibrant, harmonious backdrop.

Ceremony and Design Focus

For the ceremony, a soft-draped chuppah served as the focal point. The delicate drapery introduced a subtle opulence. The reception tent mirrored this drapery, creating a seamless transition between spaces.

Florals were a major focus. Working with designer Rachel Clingen, the couple incorporated abundant, textured arrangements. Seasonal hydrangeas and delphiniums in blue, lavender, and purple created an ombré effect. Abundant aisle arrangements formed a lush pathway framing the ceremony.

Personalized Stationery and Details

Stationery was a favorite part of the design process for the bride. She DIY'ed the invitation suite, incorporating gold foil, butterfly die-cut vellum wraps, botanical illustrations, wax seals, and soft chiffon ribbon. She later collaborated with Blanche Heirloom to create bespoke day-of stationery.

This included embossed menus tied with soft velvet bows and a seating chart featuring watercolor hydrangeas. Every printed detail was designed to feel cohesive with the floral design and color palette.

Above all, the couple wanted every detail to feel intentional. The soft blue palette was carried throughout the celebration. It appeared in the florals, botanical linens, runners, and stationery.

Custom flower coupes and personalized cocktail napkins were used. Color-coordinated Polaroid cameras were provided for guests. Edible purple flowers adorned the salad course.

Reception Layout and Tablescapes

The reception took place on a 160-foot stone terrace overlooking the garden, under a clear tent built around several large ash trees. The couple chose to seat guests at five long imperial tables so florals could run throughout the entire space.

This created the feeling of one continuous garden. The arrangements featured fluffy hydrangeas, airy blue delphiniums, delicate textural blooms, and crisp white Playa Blanca roses.

Soft blue botanical linens and flowing runners echoed the ombré floral palette. Crystal stemware completed the look. The result was a lush tablescape that maintained a soft, airy elegance.

Menu and Wedding Cake

The couple curated a menu centered on their favorite dishes, with an emphasis on seasonal ingredients and thoughtful presentation. The meal began with a garden harvest salad adorned with purple edible flowers.

Mains included confit chicken, halibut, and a seasonal tomato tart. A house-made limoncello sorbet with mint provided a light, refreshing finish.

Their three-tier wedding cake featured specific flavors chosen for personal reasons.

The cake design was kept classic with an ivory palette. Sculptural sugar florals cascaded organically across each tier, with delicate floral appliqué adding texture.

Personal Ceremony Elements

The ceremony was officiated by Rabbi Michael Dolgin of Temple Sinai, a longtime family friend of the groom. He was joined by Justice Lorne Sossin, a judge of the Court of Appeal for Ontario.

Music was a key element, deeply connected to the groom's family and Jewish tradition. The couple honored the memory of the groom's grandfather, composer Ben Steinberg. They requested that Cantor Meara Lebovitz sing pieces he had written.

The performance moved many guests to tears, including the groom's 95-year-old grandmother. The challah served at the lunch was baked by the groom's aunt, Ruthie, renowned in the family for her fluffy challahs. It was blessed by her husband, Gordie, before being shared.
