Lauren and Harry, together since age 19, planned a destination wedding at Italy's Belmond Hotel Caruso on the Amalfi Coast. They selected the venue for its timeless elegance and coastal views without ever visiting it or the region beforehand, aiming for an event distinct from a traditional Adelaide winery wedding.

The overall design vision centered on intimate Italian romance. The ceremony was set among olive trees with views of the mountains and coastline. The reception paired classic white linens and gold-rimmed place settings with soft hydrangea centerpieces, single-stem floral details, and crystal chandeliers in an open-air space overlooking the sea.

The Proposal and Planning Journey

Harry proposed in January 2024 in their garden at home in Adelaide, shortly after they finished building the house. The couple was celebrating their move with a lunch at a winery in the Adelaide Hills beforehand. The proposal coincided with their approaching ten-year anniversary as a couple. This event sparked a wedding planning journey that would ultimately lead them to Italy.

Fashion and Florals

Lauren wore a romantic lace gown by designer Steven Khalil. The dress featured an off-the-shoulder neckline and detailed floral embroidery. Her look was completed with a sleek bun, a lace-trimmed veil, and an ivory bouquet of clustered white blooms.

Florals were a defining element of the wedding design. The ceremony area was framed by lush, garden-like arrangements. These included hydrangeas, roses, and other delicate blooms in ivory, pale blush, buttercream, and soft green. Oversized white urns, cascading installations, and olive trees created the backdrop. The reception continued the theme with low hydrangea centerpieces.

Ceremony and Reception Details

Guests were welcomed with jewel-toned cocktails served on silver trays. Music was a carefully chosen component. Lauren envisioned a string quartet for the ceremony. The bridesmaids processed to the “Flower Duet,” while Lauren made her entrance to “Con Te Partirò.”

The celebration continued into the night. Lauren and Harry shared their first dance to “September” by Earth, Wind & Fire. They also cut their wedding cake beside the hotel pool, surrounded by candlelight and the coastal night atmosphere.
