Somerset Couple's Farm Wedding Highlights Local Suppliers
Louisa and Josh married in late May at a village church in North Wootton, Somerset, followed by a reception in a Cruck Tent on Josh's family farm.

Louisa and Josh married in late May at St Peter's Church in North Wootton, Somerset. Their reception was held in a wooden Cruck Tent in the garden of the home they built on Josh's family farm, featuring views of Glastonbury Tor.
The couple wanted their wedding to reflect the English spring countryside. They emphasized working with local Somerset suppliers wherever possible. Their planning timeline involved a two-year engagement to avoid feeling rushed.
The Venue and Location
The ceremony took place at the village church, St Peter's, which holds family significance for Josh. The reception was held at their home on the family farm. They chose a Cruck Tent for the reception structure. A hand-drawn sketch of Glastonbury Tor, where they got engaged, was featured on their wedding stationery.
Attire and Accessories
Louisa's dress was the 'Hannah' design from Sassi Holford's 'Love conquers all' 2022 range, purchased at a sample sale in Taunton in July 2023. She chose not to wear a veil due to the dress's own draping details. Her shoes were preloved Jimmy Choos from The Green Muse website. She wore Marc Jacobs' Daisy perfume.
Her bouquet included silk bows from her late grandmother's wedding dress. She borrowed a tennis bracelet from her mother-in-law. The bridesmaids wore pale blue dresses from Maids to Measure, with the group selecting different styles.
Josh wore a tailcoat suit from Clifton Suits in Bristol. Both wedding rings were preloved yellow gold bands. Louisa's ring, a gift from her mother-in-law, is 22ct gold with hallmarks dating it to 1864-1865.
Flowers and Decor
Meg of Megan Lily Floral Design provided the flowers. The arrangements used local, seasonal flowers in soft pastel colours. A notable feature was a floral chandelier suspended above the circular bar inside the tent. The style was described as loose and whimsical.
Reception Details
The French Kitchen, based in West Horrington, catered the event. The couple had a cake of cheese sourced through a family friend in catering supply. A large disco ball was hung over the dancefloor, hired from Cruck Tent and inspired by the tent company's owners.
Photography was handled by Joshua Gooding, a college acquaintance of the couple. Hair and makeup were done by Harriet Gallon. The ceremony was led by Reverend Daile Wilshere and included two readings.
