Lakeside Wedding Blends Tuscan and Southern
Hannah and Christian Cusimano's 400-guest lakeside wedding in Alabama featured a blue, green, and ivory palette, a fully draped tent, and a menu merging

Hannah and Christian Cusimano celebrated their wedding with over 400 guests at a lakeside venue, blending Tuscan-inspired decor with classic Southern hospitality. The event featured a timeless color scheme of blue, green, and ivory, executed within a fully draped tent structure.
Ceremony and Reception Design
Planners aimed for a seamless transition from the ceremony to the reception for the large guest list. The main reception tent housed a stage, a custom-colored dance floor, and cocktail tables with distinctive linens. An attached bar tent, also fully draped, featured custom shelves designed to match the wedding invitations.
A separate food tent was kept simple but elevated, marked by 10-foot olive trees at the entry. A grand floral arrangement led guests to the Tuscan table. Additional lounge seating was provided by large banquettes topped with floral arrangements placed by the water, alongside a cigar bar complete with ferns and whiskey. The ceremony site was kept simple to highlight the natural beauty of the church.
Wedding Fashion and Attire
Hannah's wedding gown was an Augusta Jones design from Carriage House in Mountain Brook, Alabama. Her bridesmaids wore dresses by designer Lula Kate, sourced from Bella Bridesmaids. Christian's groomsmen wore black tuxedos from Mr. Burch's formalwear.
Food and Drink Details
The catering menu thoughtfully blended rustic Tuscan flavors with classic Southern hospitality. Guests were welcomed with passed hors d'oeuvres including Ahi Tuna Tacos with wasabi crème and edamame, and Caprese canapés.
The reception featured a stunning Tuscan table filled with Mediterranean favorites. A classic seafood station offered fresh Gulf shrimp and citrus-marinated crab claws. A carving station featured oven-roasted top round of beef.
Ceremony Music Program
The couple selected a classical and theatrical score for their ceremony, as detailed in their program. Each piece corresponded to a specific moment in the service.
Unique Reception Details
Florals were placed throughout the venue, with key points including the stage, the grand arrangement around the Tuscan table, and greenery draping the rattan chandeliers in the tent. Hannah and Christian entered their reception on a vintage criss-cross boat to cheers from their guests.
Their dance floor was a custom celadon and white checkered design. Upon entry, guests were greeted with gold shelves displaying memorabilia from the couple's time together and family portraits from throughout the years. The wedding cake was an elegant five-tier creation from Magic Muffins in Birmingham, Alabama, decorated with floral fondant pieces.
Christian proposed to Hannah on March 14th, 2025, at Lake Martin in Alabama, a place special to her from childhood. He recounted, "I got down on one knee and asked Hannah to marry me." They celebrated afterward with dinner at Spring House, which later hosted their rehearsal dinner.
