Bilingual Wedding Ceremony in Virginia

Camille and Jeff were married in late September 2025. Their ceremony was held at the historic Mankin Mansion estate on the edge of Richmond, Virginia.

One of their closest friends officiated. The couple chose to have the entire ceremony performed bilingually in English and Spanish. This ensured Camille's family could fully understand and feel connected to every moment.

Partway through the reception, Camille changed into a chic mini dress for dancing. Her makeup was by Evine Beauté and her hair was styled by Avenue 42.

Jeff wore a custom burgundy tuxedo from Indochino. He wanted something distinctive that fit a moody fall palette. The tuxedo had a personalized interior lining with the venue name and wedding date stitched inside.

He paired it with a textured black bow tie and monogrammed cufflinks. He also wore a favorite pair of whiskey-and-cigar-patterned socks Camille had gifted him years earlier.

Inspiration and Palette

Planning involved navigating trends and the pressure to create something unique. The couple chose a fall wedding but avoided typical seasonal colours like navy or pumpkin.

After inspiration from Pinterest, they settled on a moody, romantic palette. It blended swampy green, maroon, and blush. Tapered candles, gold flatware, and intentional florals made the colours feel rich.

The overall style aimed for modern romance, elevated but warm. A black-tie-preferred dress code encouraged guest elegance. Gillian Schilling of Mankin Mansion served as the planner and coordinator.

The Wedding Day Details

The day was documented by Rise + Roam photography, who also shot Super 8 film. Stephen James Film handled videography. A special video was created from a pre-wedding date night where the couple talked about their love story. It was shown during the reception.

It rained consistently from morning until mid-afternoon. The experience added to the couple's precious memories of a laid-back day.

Fleure Studio created Camille's bouquet. It was made of orchids designed on a ring so it could be carried like a handbag. Groomsmen wore floral brooches instead of traditional buttonholes.

The couple met nine years ago on the dating app Bumble. Their first date was in January 2017 at a Bar Louie in Gainesville.
